V-steaming, also known as tangas in traditional Malay postpartum practices, is a time-honored tradition that has been passed down through generations. We are now introducing Tangas in sachets for more easier and faster use.

What Is V-Steaming (Tangas)?
V-steaming involves sitting on a specially designed stool over a pot containing steamed or heated herbs. The purpose is to allow the herbal steam to flow to the V area.


This practice is traditionally used for routine care of the private parts, particularly after childbirth.


The herbs used in v-steaming are beneficial for women who have delivered through normal birth.


How to Prepare Vaginal Steaming:
Ingredients: Citronella leaves, Pandan leaves, Kaffir lime leaves, Turmeric leaves, ‘Lemuni’ leaves, Bay leaves, Morinda leaves, Henna leaves, Fenugreek, Cinnamon.


Equipment: Basin (besen) or special chair with hole and a pot.


Herbal Infusion: 1 – Pour hot boiling water into the basin with 1 sachet. Cover your body with cloth and start steaming for 15 – 20 minutes. Or 2 – Mix herbs with a little bit of water until become paste texture. Smoke the paste with heated river stone and put in a pot. The resulting herbal infusion will create the steam.


Heat Regulation: Ensure the steam is at a comfortable temperature. It should be warm but not scalding.


Positioning: Sit on the stool with your V area directly above the pot, allowing the herbal steam to envelop the region.


How to Use V-Steaming:
Postpartum Period: V-steaming is typically practiced during the postpartum period (also known as tempoh berpantang), which lasts for 40-44 days (6 weeks).


Confinement Lady (CL): Although traditionally CL will assist mothers with this ritual, Tungbayee is now providing self-care, easy to use products that mothers or even any woman who have come to maturity can use and prepare without any hassle.


Health Benefits: V-steaming helps restore the new mother’s energy and health after childbirth.


Other Heat Treatments: Besides vaginal steaming, another heat treatment involves heated point massage using heated objects (similar to hot stone massage). This helps reduce pain, muscle spasm, and aids in healing.
